The plot of Ghost Town does not sound very original but judging from this Ghost Town trailer the movie will be entertaining anyway. Besides the cast of Ghost Town, with Ricky Gervais, Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni, is likable.

Ghost Town is an upcoming fantasy comedy directed by David Koepp. The movie is starring Ricky Gervais, Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni. Ghost Town should be released mid-September 2008.

Plot:
"Bertram Pincus (Ricky Gervais), is a man whose people skills leave much to be desired. When Pincus dies unexpectedly, but is miraculously revived after seven minutes, he wakes up to discover that he now has the annoying ability to see ghosts. Even worse, they all want something from him, particularly Frank Herlihy (Greg Kinnear) who pesters him into breaking up the impending marriage of his widow Gwen (Téa Leoni). That puts Pincus squarely in the middle of a triangle with spirited results"(Source: IMDb)

Is Ghost Town a pale copy of the 1990 cult movie Ghost (with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg)? There is no denying that the two movies share striking similarities.

It is not an exact copy though: the plot of Ghost Town is centering on the character played by Ricky Gervais (equivalent of Whoopi Goldberg's character in Ghost) instead of Greg Kinnear's character (who is an equivalent of Patrick Swayze). And the town part of the movie title is meaningful: ghosts are plenty in Ghost Town!

But Ghost Town mostly differ from Ghost because it is a real comedy movie from its very beginning to the end.
